Studio 67An Art Gallery With A Twist

Richard Royle’s portraits line the walls while Richard and Elisa prepare absinthe the traditional way every Friday and Saturday after 2pm. Part gallery, part green hour, and somewhere between the two... a place people tend to stay longer than they planned.

To Inspire and entertain

Richard Royle had been painting starlets, saints and silver-screen icons in the spare room for the better part of two decades before Studio 67 came to life in 2023. The work owes a debt to Warhol, but with an added warmth and style that is entirely his own.

In 2023, Richard and his wife Elisa opened the gallery with a single goal: to put the paintings on a wall, and let the conversation do the rest. The addition of 67 Lates and, later, the Wednesday cinema club, was — in their own words — a happy accident.

After 2pm, the gallery shifts. A glass, a slotted spoon, a sugar cube — and the green hour begins.Friday & Saturday, after two.

After Hours...

From 2pm on Fridays and Saturdays, the gallery takes on a different atmosphere. Among vintage Sherbourne boudoir chairs, absinthe is served in the traditional manner — over a slotted spoon, a sugar cube, and a slow drip of ice water until the louche clouds pale green.

There are other offerings as well, though some things are better discovered in person.

Cool and cozy. You will probably need to book via their Instagram to secure a place in this tiny place but it's still worth the effort. Stylish cocktails and amazing atmosphere. The owners / staff are welcome you in like dinner guests to some bygone Parisian bar. You could have pre-drinks here for many other places in Shrewsbury. Like Bobby's Tacos next door. It closes early so don't miss out

One-of-a-kind bar experience! We visited this cocktail bar spontaneously and were so pleasantry surprised. The service was incredible, with free tasters and a lovely Polaroid to take home. The cocktails were fab, atmosphere cosy and intimate, and the gentleman who served us really knows his stuff! Truly a hidden gem.

Great little place where you can relax with a drink surrounded by beautiful artwork. Extra points from us as not only do they have a great selection of cocktails, they do a great non alcoholic beer too

Oh my goodness! What a captivating find this awesome little bar is!!! Stumbled on completely unexpectedly, we find ourselves welcomed into this bijou independent on a Friday night, where there’s an artistic bohemianism to the décor and music. The objet d’art each have a tale to tell and it’s clear that owners: Elisa & Richard, have taken great care in choosing and sourcing every piece. They couldn’t be more accommodating and loved hosting us, as Elisa mixed cocktails and Richard talked us through the abundance of artwork adorning the walls; all his own and all for sale in this gallery come speak easy joint!!!o Great cocktail menu, which features specials, and small, select, well chosen wines list. This really is a gem of a find and you will not be disappointed! Whether you choose a drink enroute to another destination, or you decide to hunker down and spend the night, I can assure you will not be disappointed.
